| One of our jobs in this fight was to provide fires under a variety of circumstances. Our weapon system was the M109A6 Paladin howitzer, firing a 155mm projectile. When it comes to aviators, our cavalier attitude is summed up by this motto: big sky, little bullet. In other words, don't worry about it. However, our aviation brethren take it a little more seriously. Before firing, an operations center nearby confirms that the sky is clear, or otherwise we will not fire. |
