| The battalion command sergeant major is unfurling the colors of the 2d Battalion, 17th Field Artillery Regiment as part of our combat patch ceremony. We all wear the 2nd Infantry Division patch on our left shoulders to signify our unit affiliation. After having served in a combat zone with the unit, though, we are then authorized to wear the same patch on our right shoulders. This is to signify a combat tour with the unit. |
