Coming soon!

Well, the first Your Personal Assignment Photographer contest has come and gone (see below for details). Thank you viewers for sending me to China, where I had a supremely good time and came back with some photos I liked. I hope you liked them too!

I will be initiating another round of voting with different locations sometime in the near future. If you would like to be notified of when the polls open please subscribe to my mailing list by sending an email to iipix-subscribe@egroups.com. It is a low volume list that announces new updates here on the site and it is easy to unsubscribe at any time.

In the meantime, please enjoy the photographs here on the site and be sure not to miss the results of the first Your Personal Assignment Photographer contest--Assignment Kunming.

The votes are tallied!

This marks the completion of the first voting round for Your Personal Assignment Photographer, ending on June 10, 2000. And here are the results:

Vietnam, 11 votes (9%)
China, 100 votes (83%)
Laos, 2 votes (1%)
Cambodia, 3 votes (2%)
Burma, 4 votes (3%)

However, I am a little suspicious. On one day, China had about 12 votes and then the next day it had 100. I think a China fan was stuffing the ballot box. No matter, it was ahead anyway so China it is.

Tomorrow (June 11, 2000), I am on my way to take pics in China as Your Personal Assignment Photographer. I will be on Thai Airways International flight TG616, leaving Chiang Mai at 2:25pm and arriving in Kunming, Yunnan Province, at 5:00pm.

You thought I was kidding about doing this, weren't you?

After my trip it will take some time to compile, scan and post the pictures here on the site. If you want to be notified about when the pics are posted, please sign up for the Ed's Photos mailing list by sending an email to iipix-subscribe@egroups.com. It is a low volume list to update subscribers about new material on the site, and it is easy to subscribe and unsubscribe.

Also to be announced on the mailing list is the next Your Personal Assignment Photographer voting round. If your voting choice didn't win this time, there is a chance it will next time. And I will be logging IP addresses this time so that there will be no ballot stuffing!
