So I get up on Monday morning to go to work, and I take my camera to the shrine to take a few more pics in the daytime. How surprised I was to find that some late night vandals have made their mark. The smell of chemicals is thick in the air, and the grounds of the shrine are absolutely covered by what looks like an attack with a fire extinguisher. But this is another example of how even the lawlessness in Japan is respectful: the vandals waited until the festival was over to do their work.
