Fire
Fire Pot

The participants will eventually set fire to about eight of the monolithic torches, using this fire pot to start a small torch that they will use to ignite the main torch.
I thought that eventually, the police would take me by the elbow and shove me back into the crowd, and it almost happened. One of the bystanders wanted to take a picture of this pot, and yelled to a police officer, "Hey, tell the foreigner to get out of the way!" But I heard him, and manuevered out of the way before anybody took the initiative to tell me to scram. In my haste to avoid the police, I moved into even more dangerous territory.

See the next photo: even more dangerous territory.
