cherry blossom, Japan, photos

The cherry blossom season in Yonezawa City lasts for about a week, and though short, it is memorable. The pink petals mark the end of winter, with warmer weather on the way. People like to spend time with friends outdoors, enjoying the cherry blossom scenery as well as the comfortable temperature. For photographers, it is also a busy time. To me, cherry blossoms are not just pretty pink petals that bloom and then fall like snow. This one week that brings everyone outdoors is to me an opportunity to see and take photos of people who are glad to have survived another snowy winter.

Enjoy!
