In order to drill on situational awareness, there are procedures for the battalion area. Five VIP guards are posted and stand at parade rest, silently watching anyone who approaches. If an NCO enters, the guards calls "At ease!", and "Company, attention!" for officers. The consequences for a lapse can be substantial--perhaps a mini-PT session of push ups and flutter kicks. Pay attention!
